From printing to packaging, everything we produce is with ecological sustainability in mind. Most of our items are made organically while we use only vegan inks to print our designs.

Over 80% of textiles produced by the fashion industry end up in landfills, and one in every five of the items produced by the fashion industry reaches landfill without ever being worn.

To avoid this level of overproduction and environmental damage Tegazumi works only with on-demand suppliers. This means we'll only produce items we get a specific order for thereby avoiding textile waste from overproduction.

Our printing partners' high-quality printing tech creates almost no wastewaters and uses less energy than standard industry printers.

Each item you see on our website is made on-demand so once you place your order, it's made specifically for you. This allows us to avoid overproduction and textile waste, and we’re continuously working toward greener production and to include more organic items in our catalogue.

So with Tegazumi you can be sure you will never be purchasing a mass-produced design and that the working conditions of our partner companies is of the highest ethical standard.

DTG Printing

This method is typically used for products with high cotton fabric content, like t-shirts, hoodies, tote bags, etc.

Our clothing designs are fulfilled using various methods. Many of our products are printed with the direct-to-garment (DTG) technique, which is a printing method where ink is first sprayed directly onto the garment, and then it soaks into the fabric. It’s like printing on paper, but on clothing.

We use Kornit printers that generate almost zero wastewater and use less energy than standard industry printers, which lowers our carbon footprint. The inks we use for printing are Oeko-Tex™ certified, vegan, water-based, and free of harmful chemicals. TEGAZUMI takes sustainability seriously, that’s why we take care to properly dispose of any left-over ink according to the ink supplier guidelines.

At TEGAZUMI, we embroider our products with Oeko-Tex™ certified threads, meaning they’re safe for both adult and children's clothing. Compared to printing, embroidery is generally more durable and produces less environmental waste.

Eco-friendly materials

There are a lot of reasons why a product or material could be considered sustainable. Wherever possible our products are 100% organic cotton and we are actively working towards the inclusion of more fully organic items.

If you see a design of ours you like on an item that is for example not 100% organic, please contact us as we can produce the design on a different base item specially for you and would be happy to do so.

Production times

As each product in the Tegazumi collection is made-on-demand this means once you place the order we start working immediately to produce it for you. It takes a little more time to create the product and then send it out, but making each order on-demand avoids unnecessary overproduction. We hope that the slightly longer wait will be worth it for both you and the planet!

Product packaging

At TEGAZUMI all apparel products are packed in post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic mailers. The amount of PCR in the packaging will differ depending on where your order gets printed, but it’s at least 50% for the outside (white or grey) poly mailer bags and at least 30% for the inside (clear) bags used in multi-item shipments.

PCR packaging is made from everyday items, like used plastic bags and bottles. This material protects your order just as well as regular plastic bags, however, choosing PCR over first-use plastics reduces the environmental impact plastic has on our planet.
